Mary Jane Oatman welcomes a flotilla to shore as part of the inaugural Tribal, Environmental, and Cultural Summit, held at the Lakeview Pavilion in Ponderosa State Park on Saturday, June 8. The event was hosted by Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment and supported by the Sierra Club, The International Wildlife Coexistence Network, Idaho Rivers United, and Save the Southfork of the Salmon. Activities included an opening ceremony, a traditional dance, poetry readings, a flotilla, and discussions on salmon, grizzly bears, wolves, the Stibnite Mine, forest management and Nimiipuu history.
