Vandals get defensive to beat Trojans
The McCall-Donnelly girls soccer team got defensive against Homedale last week on the road, settling a much-anticipated Snake River Valley Conference tilt, 1-0, when Zoe Spangenberg found the net on a corner kick opportunity. The win, along with a 5-0 shutout of Payette two days later, kept the Vandals unbeaten through seven games and atop conference standings.Head coach Mike Maini said the M-D squad slowed the Trojan attack with a stout effort.“We knew they had some great players, and they do,” Maini said.
