Emily Bush, 12, of McCall, swims away from Legacy Park at the start of the Mile High Mile Open Water Swim Race last Saturday. The annual race broke their previous record of 65 participants with a total of 78 swimmers. Bush completed the mile-long swim after training with the "Swim Squad", a group of girls between ages 11 and 16 that have been learning to open-water swim through a Parks and Recreation grant program spearheaded by Kim Hamilton.
