Members of the McCall Swim Team compete in a friendly relay called the Pumpkin Push at The Club in McCall on Tuesday. Coached by Kim Hamilton, the fall swim team is open to youth eight to thirteen and swimmers are grouped by ability. The season starts in late September and continues into November, the culmination of which is a swim meet at the Idaho Aquatic Center in Boise on Nov. 9. Youth swimmers learn four basic strokes including butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. The focus of workouts is to increase strength and endurance as well as practice racing starts, turns and finishes.
