Four McCall-Donnelly High School students received recognition for their writing submissions to the Scholastic Writing Competition. The contest is the nation’s longest-running awards program with 28 categories for youth writing and art submissions. Vandal writers are pictured with certificates for the following awards, in their respective categories: Sierra Berry, Silver Key in Journalism for “Bees vs. Climate Change”; Rylie Dow, Silver Key in Dramatic Script for “Hero’s Journey”; Charlie Spiers, Honorable Mention in Short Story for “The Alley Runner”, and Caroline Snyder in Personal Essay and Memoir for “Constellations.” In total, eleven MDHS students entered work in this year’s competition.Courtesy photo/Audrey Swanson
