June 14, 1958 – January 27, 2023

Richard “Rick” Durbin, beloved Father, brother and friend to many, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at the age of 64.

He passed peacefully at St. Luke’s hospital in Meridian, surrounded by his loved ones.

Rick was born June 14, 1958, in Boise.

He lived in many places all around the country throughout his life. He was raised in childhood in California, but Idaho was where he called home.

Through his life he worked various jobs but preferred to be in the kitchen. Cooking and family were his passions.

Those who knew Rick enjoyed his caring nature, sense of humor and overall goofy personality.

He enjoyed many things such as Harley Davidson motorcycles, attending rock and metal concerts and fishing. He also enjoyed surfing, unicycling, roller skating and skate boarding in his younger days.

Dedicating and raising not only his own biological children, but many others called him Dad.

He is survived by his brothersBillDurbinandPaul Smart and leaves behind his children and stepchildren, Sonya Black, Joshua Durbin, Felicia Durbin, Kylie Durbin, Vinesa Morningstar, Stephanie Morningstar, James “Tony” Morningstar, Angel Crum, Christina Roberts and Timbre Durbin.

There are also other extended family members that will miss him dearly.

Rick was an amazing man and truly touched many lives. May he rest in comfort and peace.

Memorial services will be held in Cascade. Date pending but being planned for spring.
