May 18, 1957 – January 16, 2023

Richard Acel Herrick passed away on Jan. 16, 2023, at his home in Boise.

He was surrounded by loved ones in his final days, with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law at his side in his final hours.

Rick was born May 18, 1957, in Boise. He was raised in Cascade, where his love of hunting, fishing, and camping began.

Rick traveled the world in service to his country from 1975 to 1992 in the United States Air Force.

Rick became a proud father in 1984 when his son, Adam, was born.

In 1999, Rick married the love of his life, Shawn.

Together they shared a love of family, friends, dancing, travel, time outdoors and ending the day with a bar-b-que and a campfire.

He is survived by his wife Shawn, his son Adam Herrick, daughter-in-law Lindsey, his granddaughters Quinn and Rylee whom he loved dearly, his sisters Lisa Latimer (Keith) and Cynda Herrick, and several nieces and nephews.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Clydie Hull.

Rick was loved and will be missed by so many.

At Rick’s humble request, a memorial service will not be held.
