OPEN HOUSE—The McCall Municipal Airport hosted its annual open house on Saturday. This year, the event celebrated the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. Pictured are Sophie McManus (22) and her grandfather Don Lojek (84) inspecting a P-38 Lightning fighter plane called “Honey Bunny.” Of the roughly 10,000 P-38s that were made, it is one of 26 that still exist and one of only nine that still can still fly. The twin-engine plane is owned by the Croul family of Caldwell. The airplane is often on display at the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa and was flown to the open house on Friday by Kevin Eldridge of Donnelly. Photo by Max Silverson/The Star-News
