July 16, 1955 – December 9, 2022 It is with great sadness for the family to announce the passing of their loving husband, father and grandfather. Mike passed away December 9th, 2022 at home, beside his wife and 3 angelic daughters following a long, courageous fight for life.
Mike was born in Boise, Idaho on July 16, 1955 to Donald and Loretta Roark. He was a long-time resident of Cascade, Idaho where he spent so much of his life as an avid outdoorsman hunting, fishing and providing for his family. Through his love and need to be outdoors, he showed us how to find God in the dirt under our feet, in the warmth of the sun on our skin and within our precious time together. He spent his working life logging, often alongside his father, from the local surrounding mountains all the way North to Alaska and back where he continued in the wood industry working for Boise Cascade Sawmill. Mike spent the last years of his life in Jacksonville, North Carolina where he was able to enjoy his three grandchildren. Fishing, laughing, loving and making memories that will never be forgotten.
Mike will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife of 48 years, Connie; his daughters, Tonia (Scott) Walston, Jaime (Jason) Sherwood and Randi Roark; his grandchildren, Kayla Mae, Ryan Dean and Ricky Michael Sherwood; his parents; Donald (Tuffy) and Loretta Roark; his sisters, Wanda Montgomery and Angela Kraft; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Shirlene Saleen.
