Twenty-five Vandal actors and designers attended the District III Drama Tournament held Saturday, Nov. 16 at Mountain View High School in Meridian. MDHS placed second overall in the 3A division, behind first place winner Idaho Arts Charter and in front of third place Garden Valley. Overall, 18 schools competed in the tournament, with over 450 total entries and 600 students across schools in divisions 3A to 5A. Students compete against the entire pool of participants to qualify individual entries for the Idaho High School Activities Association State Drama Championships. Qualifying McCall-Donnelly Vandals were Rylie Dow in the Original Serious category with her self-authored piece, “Hero’s Journey,” and Sophie Snyder in Solo Musical Theater with her entry “On My Own” from Les Misérables.
