December 28, 2002 – June 8, 1932 Margaret Louise Preston Brasley passed away on December 28, 2022.
She was born June 8, 1932, in Weiser to Myrl and Louise Tischer Preston.
She grew up and worked on the family farm in Midvale and graduated from Midvale High School.
While attending cosmetology school in Nampa, she met and married Bob and lived at Mountain Home Air Force Base.
The family also lived in Suncook, New Hampshire; Council and Boise.
They finally settled in Cascade where Margaret and Bob lived and worked for decades through the mid‘90s before moving to Boise.
For the last three years, Margaret has resided at Spring Gardens Assisted Living.
Margaret and Bob were proud to play an integral part in starting the Cascade Rural Fire Department.
Margaret could be seen driving the fire truck and answering the emergency fire phone that was connected to their house. She also did the budgeting and books.
During the Cascade Fourth of July parades, Margaret would break out in tears when the fire trucks rolled by, telling family members what it was like to start the rural fire department and do it on an extremely limited budget.
Margaret was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Margaret was an accomplished seamstress and knitter and won numerous ribbons at the Valley County Fairs. She gave away countless knitted items throughout her life.
Margaret loved to attend church and played organ for church services and funerals in Cascade and surrounding areas for many years.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Larry (Amy) of Meridian, Tom (Adriane) of Meridian and Ed (Dianne) of Gresham, Oregon; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband of nearly 48 years.

Cremation service is under the direction of All Valley Cremation in Nampa.
A service and lunch will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, in Midvale at 50 Bridge St. (next to the Midvale Mercantile) with interment at the Eastside cemetery in Midvale.
