Anne Smith, of Cascade, was one of the volunteers as The Cascade Environmental Group, including members of Horizons and Friends of Lake Cascade, gathered to pick up trash in Cascade on Earth Day. Participants gathered 140 pounds of garbage throughout the downtown area, in just one hour. It was satisfying to see the difference that a small group of people can make in such a short time.
