Nitzel poured in 22 points in her first game back and Rogers scored 16 points as Cascade rolled past Idaho City, 44-30, last week to open play at the Rolly Lincoln Memorial Tournament. The Ramblers were able to pick up their third victory this season.
Rogers scored five points as the Ramblers lost to Council, 58-10, during a Long Pin game last week at Novotny Gym. The Lumberjacks moved to 3-2 with the victory.
Riley Nickerson was born with a congenital heart defect. The 9-year-old from Cascade went on a week-long trip to the four-story water park at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission to, “grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.” She is in stable condition after undergoing four open-heart surgeries, but her diagnosis means she must check in with a cardiologist every six months.

The McCall Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday recommended rezoning nine acres on Stibnite Street to allow for teacher housing for the McCall-Donnelly School District. The district owns two parcels of land on nine acres on Stibnite Street south of Mc-Call-Donnelly High School.
Plan urges 500-foot nowake zones on parts of Payette L., Lake Cascade County and city officials said Monday they hope to have new no-wake zones on Payette Lake and Lake Cascade in place by next summer’s boating season. Valley County commissioners and council members from McCall and Cascade reviewed the latest version of the Valley County Waterways Management Plan, which calls for expanded no-wake zones.
Valley County has jurisdiction over many endowment lands around McCall because they are within the McCall Impact Area, which was created under a 1977 agreement with the city. The county adopts zoning laws for the impact area that mirror those in place for city limits, but decision-making authority for private land in the impact area rests with the county commissioners.

Local and regional figure skaters will compete in the annual Jason Hawkins Skate by the Lake Competition Friday and Saturday at Manchester Ice and Event Centre. More than 100 figure skaters are schedule to compete, with technical free skate programs from 11 a.m.
