Make-A-Wish at water park
Riley Nickerson was born with a congenital heart defect. The 9-year-old from Cascade went on a week-long trip to the four-story water park at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission to, “grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.” She is in stable condition after undergoing four open-heart surgeries, but her diagnosis means she must check in with a cardiologist every six months.
McCall Nordic team kicks off season
Taylor Nalder placed second in the five-kilometer skate race at the 2022 Sun Valley Super Tour & Intermountain Opener event on Sunday. Nalder was one of five skiers from the McCall Nordic and Biathlon Ski Club to race in the team’s first event of the season.
