Ramblers fourth at holiday tourney

Tyler Thurston delivered the goods with 29 points, 11 rebounds and five assists and the Cascade boys basketball team used a 68-58 win over Victory Charter to navigate a fourth place finish at the Truckstop.com Tournament, held over the weekend in New Plymouth.Cole Olson added 17 points for the Ramblers while Sam Huckaby had a monster game on the boards, pulling down 16 rebounds to go with 11 points.“Great experience,” Cascade coach Josh Hurley said of the three-day tournament, which ran Thursday through Saturday.Thurston’s hot night against the Nampa-based Vipers included cashing in on 6 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc.

Gabi Green scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half as the McCall-Donnelly girls basketball team outdueled 4A Ridgevue, 43-30, last week in Nampa to halt a three-game slide.Emma Ormsby snared 10 rebounds and Izzy Tinney gathered six points, seven rebounds and five steals as the Vandals moved to 4-5 with a couple of victories heading into the holiday break.
