All-leaguer Maddox Arnold will be running and gunning for touchdowns this fall, but the senior quarterback knows who will be paving the way when the McCall-Donnelly football team opens the season against 5A Wood River on Friday.“I honestly think our O-line is going to be the star,” Arnold said.That is typically good news for a football team, and it stems from the fact four of five offensive linemen from last season return for the Vandals: Mike Pellerin (left tackle), Max Recher (center), Avery Riggs (right guard) and Finn Moon (right tackle).

Jacob Mascheroni is just one of several McCall-Donnelly cross country runners on the move this fall.Mascheroni, a junior, has put in the work as he chases top finishes at districts and state meets again this year.The Vandals open the season on Friday at the Weiser Invitational.“He’s done a lot of hard workouts on his own and worked on eating clean and sleeping well to maximize his training,” M-D coach McCall Keller said.
