Local bull riders brought home some serious hardware after competing in the International Miniature Bullriding Association World Finals Nov. 9-12 in Reno, Nevada.

Rambler boys building on last season success
The Cascade boys basketball team that advanced to the 1AD2 state tournament last year is back this season to build on that success. The Ramblers open play on Tuesday, traveling to Caldwell to take on Centennial Baptist School.

F&G hopes to see kokanee comeback
500,000 eggs collected from North Fork river trap to release into Payette Lake About 500,000 kokanee salmon eggs were collected by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game this fall in an effort to rebuild the kokanee salmon population in Payette Lake. For the first time in 30 years, F&G set up a weir across the North Fork of the Payette River above the lake to trap kokanee headed upstream to spawn.
Valley County seeks applicants for new rec advisory council
Valley County is seeking members for a newly created recreation advisory council to help direct the recreation department. The council will have seven to nine members to provide recommendations and advice on the best use of lands and funding to meet the growing demand for public recreation in Valley County, Recreation Department Planner Dave Bingaman said.

Kunde leads Vandals in All-SRV football selections
SeniorlinemanKylerKunde was among McCall-Donnelly football players honored by the Snake River Valley Conference for their play on both sides of the ball. Kunde, who stands 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, led the Vandals with First Team All-SRV selections on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Cascade netters hand out awards for season
Senior Kyler Nitzel was named Most Valuable Player as the Cascade volleyball team handed out awards following the season. Nitzel was also recognized for collecting the most kills, most blocks and most digs.
