Kevin Daugherty of Mc-Call took first place in the Warm Lake Stage race at this year’s Idaho Sled Dog Challenge. A new event added this year, the stage race, saw seven mushers with up to eight dogs per team complete two 26-mile loops, one on Jan.

Cole Olson added 13 points and Hayden Hull tallied nine points as the Ramblers moved to 11-7 overall with the victory, including 5-4 in league play.
Jake Hendrix sank two late free throws to tie the game as the Meadows Valley boys basketball team closed out a Monday game against Salmon River with just four players on the floor. Cordell Bovey drilled a 3-pointer with seconds remaining, however, as the Savages stole one from the Mountaineers, 47-44, during a Long Pin Conference tilt played at the MV gym.
