M-D JV boys split at Caldwell The McCall-Donnelly junior varsity boys basketball “A” team defeated Caldwell, 4524, last week on the road. The Vandals JV “B” team lost to Caldwell, 65-34, after going cold during the fourth quarter.
Gabi Green scored 16 points and Izzy Tinney hit four 3-pointers as the McCall-Donnelly girls basketball team cruised past Council, 67-49, to finish an undefeated run through the Nyssa Christmas Tournament last week in Oregon.
Koby Rivas scored 14 points as the Meadows Valley boys basketball team battled early but couldn’t keep up with Tri-Valley of Cambridge, losing, 50-34, last week in New Meadows. Jake Hendrix added eight points for the Mountaineers, who fell to 0-3 with the Long Pin Conference loss.
Peyton Lathrop scored 12 points and was dynamic on both ends of the court as M-D ran away from Vision Charter, 63-2, during the second day at the Nyssa tournament. Lee Cline added six points for the Vandals, who forced a running clock via the high school mercy rule when their lead eclipsed 30 points.
Dominic Dumas scored twice but the McCall Mountaineers hockey team was edged by the Sun Valley Suns, 4-3, on Friday at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre. Dumas collected five goals over the two-game homestand hosted by McCall, which also lost 6-3 during a Saturday game to fall to 3-3 on the season.
Sam Penny scored 14 points and Luke Scott added 13 as the McCall-Donnelly boys basketball team found its groove during a 6937 trouncing of Parma on Friday. All facets were working for the Vandals during the Snake River Valley Conference game, which was played on the road.

Gabi Green added 11 points for the Vandals, who for the second straight week missed a chance to tie it at the buzzer.
A much-anticipated showdown between the Cascade boys basketball team and highly- ranked Camas County on Saturday was spoiled when Tyler Thurston went down during a drive minutes into the game and immediately asked to be subbed out.

A trio of underclassmen – John Spilotros, Finnigan Moon and Zion Rushton – also nabbed silver in their respectivedivisions.AveryRiggsand Gavon Keegan both earned bronze while TJ Leonard and Ethan Roberts also found a place on the podium, finishing fourth.
