The Cascade golf team plans to keep building during year two of the program.

Cascade players and coaches had to look in the school’s display case to remember the last time the Ramblers won a district championship for boys basketball. Coach Josh Hurley said the year was 2011, according to those triumphant trophies.
The Cascade boys basketball team is hoping to get defensive as it opens the 1AD2 State Tournament today against Kendrick. The Tigers of Latah County are 17-3 this season and bullied their way through the Whitepine League with a 10-0 record.

Macky Power got hot over the weekend, notching a three-goal hat trick as the McCall Mountaineers concluded their final homestand of the season with an 11-9 victory over the Breckenridge Vipers Saturday at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre.
McCall Winter Sports Club U16 alpine racers Josie Leslie and Cooper Harvey struggled in Sun Valley over the weekend, with only one race finished between the two at the Laura Flood Memorial race. The event was a qualifying race of the Intermountain Division of the U.S.

McCall-Donnelly wrestler Matthew Daniels advanced all the way to the championship match at the 3A Idaho High School Championships Saturday before suffering his first loss of the entire season to finish second in the state.

Battered but far from broken, McCall-Donnelly’s Zion Rushton snared an 11-10 victory during the final moments of the fifth-place match at the 3A Idaho High School Championships Saturday, then headed straight for the medical area.

The No. 2-ranked team in the state is not who you might expect to face in a play-in game.

Adam Rushton snared bronze as McCall-Donnelly wrestlers were busy Saturday at the 3A Idaho High School Championships securing several podium finishes. A trio of siblings – Matthew Daniels, Adam Rushton and Zion Rushton – led the way with a silver, bronze and fifth-place finish, respectively.
