Four Vandals emerged as champions as the McCall-Donnelly wrestling team competed at the Ron Johnshoy Wrestling Invitational Saturday in Melba. Finn Moon (220-pounds), Carter Tucker (170) and TJ Leonard (145) all finished first during the tournament’s round-robin format, with Moon winning every match he wrestled.

McCall-Donnelly student and golfer Piper Lamm is hosting a closest-to-the-pin contest Sunday in downtown McCall as part of her senior project. The contest will be held indoors on a virtual golf simulator housed at the Hotel McCall Lakeside Building at 1101 E.
About 90 racers competed in the annual McCall Re-Mastered Nordic race Saturday at Ponderosa State Park. Racers started together on a frigid, sunny morning in a mass start on the historic course at the park that hosted the 2008 World Masters Cup.

Tucker went 6-1 to place second wrestling at 170 pounds in the tournament’s round-robin format, losing only to the group winner.

Tyler Thurston chipped in 18 points in his first game back from injury, but the Wolverines pushed the pace during the Long Pin Conference tilt and pulled out the victory on their home floor.
Kallyn Rogers had a monster game with 29 points and 13 rebounds as the Cascade girls basketball team snapped a fivegame skid by defeating Compass Charter School, 44-22, on Saturday in Meridian. Kyler Nitzel also chipped in 12 points as the Ramblers moved to 6-10 with the non-conference victory.
