2025 Fosdick Scholarship applications, 2024 awardees

The Meadows Valley Benefit Golf Tournament, aka “The Fosdick”, is offering second semester scholarships to graduating seniors at Meadows Valley High School.

The scholarship may be used toward the pursuit of a post- secondary academic, professional/technical, school education or an apprenticeship program.

Applicants may apply even if they have received a Fosdick scholarship in prior years and even if they are not first year students.

The 2024 Fosdick Scholarship second semester scholarships recipients:

Leylani Vargas Mendez, who is in her second year at the University of Idaho, studying Human Resources and Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.

Joseph Padgett, is in his first year at Lewis-Clark State College, studying Diesel Technology.

This year (2025) is the 40th year that scholarships will be awarded to selected MVHS graduates attending college or a non-traditional applicants who have previously graduated from MVHS or GED program and are Meadows Valley residents.

Applications for 2025 scholarships may be picked up at Meadows Valley High School or by contacting Loretta McConnor, Scholarship Chair, at 208-630-3298.

Completed applications must be received at the Meadows Valley School by April 15 or mailed to P.O. Box 263, New Meadows, ID 83654, or e-mailed to teammcconnor@frontiernet.net.

The “Fosdick” scholarship was established in 2003. It is funded by net proceeds from the golf tournament and accompanying activities.

To date over $113,850.00 in scholarships have been awarded to Meadows Valley graduates.

The community dinner and tournament will be held again this year on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2-3.
