The upstairs room of the Cascade Recreation Center sat unfinished for years until a recent grant enabled the center to finish construction and open their first preschool program.The recreation center, located at 333 Kelly’s Parkway, was recently awarded a $3,000 grant from Perpetua Resources.The center has offered multiple after-school programs for children over 5 years old but did not have the space for a preschool program until the recent grant, said Shay Holmes, the center’s district manager.The preschool program focuses on educational learning to prepare children for kindergarten, said Holmes.
