Senior Claire Pierce delivered 11 kills, two blocks and eight digs as the Cascade volleyball team defeated Highland of Craigmont during a five-set thriller played Saturday in the Novotny Gym.Pierce, a senior, was also perfect from the service line and finished with a strong serve-receive score, above .500.Isela Contreras chipped in eight digs while Lauren Taylor played well after being inserted into the lineup during the fourth set to fill in for an injured Rambler.

Vandals sweep SRV meet

McCall-Donnelly cross country runners put conference opponents on notice while competing at the Snake River Valley Invitational on Friday in Weiser, snaring both boys and girls team titles.Vandal sophomore Charlie Speirs also nabbed an individual crown in the boys varsity race, completing the 5,000-meter course at Rolling Hills Golf Course in 16 minutes, 27 seconds.

Vandals force Archer misfire

Three different Vandals hit the net as the McCall-Donnelly boys soccer team bullied Meridian’s Ambrose School, 3-0, during a Snake River Valley Conference game played last week at the Richard Sabala Athletic Complex.Bogdan Monahan, Toby Klasner and Caleb Anderson all beat the Archer goalkeeper with shots during the second half, giving the Vandals a second straight victory and a run of six games without a loss.The teams were tied 0-0 at half, but M-D caught fire after the break to move to 8-2-4 overall and 6-1-3 in league.Vandal goalkeeper Michael Foster was credited with the clean sheet and earned it by stopping a penalty shot.M-D coach Forrest Stanley has toyed with different formations recently, and did so again during the Oct.
