Jacob Troescher, 21, made quick work of the open-water course, cutting a path from McCall’s Legacy Park to Rotary Park in 20 minutes, 28 seconds. Gabriella Stanton, Troescher’s teammate at Colorado Mesa University, was next in, her time of 24:57 the top time among women competing.

A Colorado man was killed on June 28 when the single-engine airplane he was flying crashed near Yellow Pine, according to a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board.
