P&Z denies River Fork Ranch
A proposed 40-lot subdivision bordering Lake Fork Creek was denied by the Valley County Planning and Zoning Commission last week.River Fork Ranch had proposed to construct 22 single family homes and nine duplexes on a 44-acre property on Spink Lane, about four miles north of Donnelly.
PLMS students help MCPAWS
Students at Payette Lakes Middle School raised over $1,200 for the MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter last month.Advisory rooms across the school competed for the most coins collected, with competition between classrooms getting fierce near the end of the week-long fundraiser.Classrooms collected points based on how many coins were donated in each class’s jar.“The scoring for the event was positive points for pennies and negative points for nickels, dimes and quarters.
Payette seeks comments on access plan
The Payette National Forest is seeking public comments on a plan to define backcountry roads and watershed rehabilitation in the East Fork South Fork Salmon River watershed.A public open house meeting is planned for today from 3 to 7 p.m.
M-D ballot measures: $14m housing bond and $650k levy on the ballot
Tuesday’s ballot will include the first ever supplemental levy for the McCall-Donnelly School District and a $14 million bond that would be used to build staff housing.The bond would be used to complete 35 units of staff housing on Stibnite St.

Firewood permits now available on the Payette
Permits for cutting personal firewood on the Payette National Forest are available starting Monday.Permits are available at the McCall, New Meadows, Council and Weiser Ranger District offices Monday to Friday from 8 a.m.
