McCall-Donnelly’s Matthew Daniels circled the oval at Middleton High School and coolly claimed the lead around the final turn on his way to victory in the 400-meters on Saturday at the 3A State Track and Field Championships.It looked both smooth and effortless, coming in at a time of 49.40 seconds, and gave Daniels one of three individual golds earned by Vandals on the day.

Longtime teammates Monique Brewer and Angie Dauphinais were among three McCall-Donnelly players recognized by the Snake River Valley Conference as postseason awards were announced for softball.Both Brewer and Dauphinais were selected to the All-SRV First Team following a vote by league coaches.

McCall-Donnelly’s John Hatfield earned a First Team nod as the Snake River Valley Conference handed out postseason awards for baseball.Hatfield, a senior, was joined by teammates and brothers Owen and Cole Naugle in being recognized during a vote by league coaches.Owen Naugle, a senior, was named to the All-SRV Second Team while Cole earned an honorable mention nod during his sophomore campaign.This is a third straight all-league selection for Hatfield, who earned spots on the all-conference second team the two years prior.He celebrated his senior season by hitting his first home run in a high school varsity game on April 10 against Payette.
