Brewer bomb seals Vandal win

Monique Brewer’s home run blast in the sixth inning did not just put the exclamation point on McCall-Donnelly’s 11-1 win over a visiting Parma team on Monday – it ended the game.The Vandal senior stepped up to the plate and belted a pitch over the left field wall at the M-D softball field to sink the second place Panthers.

Reeder seizes SRV win

Freshman Charlie Reeder seized medalist honors as the McCall-Donnelly golf team engaged with Snake River Valley Conference members in a tournament last week in Weiser.The Vandal boys also snared a share of first place, shooting a combined 177 on the Rolling Hills Golf Course to tie a Homedale team that has already won a couple of tournaments this season.Reeder’s 39 over nine holes topped the boys individual field.

Parma spoils Vandal homecoming

The McCall-Donnelly baseball team enjoyed a victory of sorts on Monday, getting a chance to play a game on its home field for the first time in two-plus seasons.But the actual game was spoiled when a visiting Parma team defeated the Vandal hardballers, 9-2, during a Snake River Valley Conference game on the strength of a 5-0 first inning.Gavon Keegan, James Turlington, John Hatfield and Cole Naugle collected hits for M-D, which last played an actual game in McCall in May of 2021.

Ramblers make ruckus in Middleton

The Cascade track and field team tackled another large meet on Friday – the Middleton Invitational – but that did not stop Rambler athletes from making their mark.Trever Sayers snared silver in the high jump to record Cascade’s top finish at the multi-class meet, which featured athletes from 15 schools from the 1A, 2A and 3A classifications.
