Tesla’s electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in downtown McCall’s First Street parking lot, under an agreement approved last week by the McCall City Council. The council signed a lease agreement with the Austin, Texas, electric vehicle manufacturer that will allow the company to install charging stations for eight parking spaces in the city-owned lot.The chargers, known as Tesla Superchargers, would be able to fully charge several types of electric vehicles, including models made by Ford, Honda and Subaru, in about 30 minutes.Gas vehicles would not be allowed to park in the eight spaces occupied by the charging stations, which would occupy 12% of the 66 parking spaces in the First Street lot.The city will earn $19,200, or $200 per month per parking space, for the first year of a 10-year lease approved by city council.
