U15 women sweep Bogus freeride podium – Freeride team breaks with MWSC
Winzer Albright took first place as the U15 women swept the podium at a big mountain ski and snowboard competition at the Bogus Basin Ski Resort on Saturday.Second place went to Lyric Albright with Elli Nichols in third at the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association competition.There were six podium finishes for local athletes.Steel Messenger took first place in the U15 men’s snowboarding competition.

Quake rattles Cascade
A 4.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded about 10 miles southwest of Cascade at 10:25 a.m.
Republican presidential caucus set for Sat.
Republican voters will have their say about the presidential nominee on Saturday with four caucus locations across Valley County and two in Adams County.Caucuses are scheduled to start at noon on Saturday and finish by 1:30 p.m.

HOPE Week
The Youth Advocacy Coalition was thrilled with the outcomes of the HOPE Week activities that occurred earlier this month.
Town League results
The Little Ski Hill’s Town League Race Series returned last week with the first of three races.The race series was intended to include six races, but a lack of snow postponed the season’s start date.The race includes teams of three to five people every Thursday night on Race Run at the Little Ski Hill.Teams compete among themselves during each race, with cumulative results compared between teams at the end of the series.It is open to all ages.
Andersen leads MWSC in Hailey
U10 alpine racer Mia Andersen took first place in both slalom races at the Monroe Cup at the Rotarun Ski Area in Hailey.She was one of 18 skiers from the McCall Winter Sports Club to compete in the race.Lane Finley finished in third place in both of his races in the U10 category, and Maya Gleason took second and fourth for the U12 women.The race consisted of two slalom runs on Saturday and Sunday.
