It can probably be filed away as a good season when the entire McCall-Donnelly volleyball starting lineup is recognized by the Snake River Valley Conference.Seven Vandal athletes, including SRV Player of the Year Gabi Green, were honored as league coaches voted on postseason awards. It was a probable representation after the Vandals finished atop the conference with an 8-2 record, earned a top seed at districts and brought home the title.Shilah Arnold, a junior hitter, earned a spot on the All-SRV First Team for her efforts while her sister, Lexi Arnold, landed on the Second Team.Senior setter Reese Johnson also snared a spot on the second team after leading the Vandals in both assists (460) and aces (91) this season. In addition, M-D netters Maddie Mutert, Rylee Arnold and Sophie Stokes earned honorable mention nods.“They were all extremely dedicated to improving this year and being competitive,” Vandal coach Amber Green said of the group.Four M-D players – Green, Johnson, Mutert and Stokes – were also invited to play in the district’s Senior All-Star Game, which was held Tuesday in Payette. Not to be forgotten, Green, in her third season as the M-D skipper, was also honored as the SRV’s Coach of the Year. The Vandal attack was powered by a formidable duo.
