Now You Know

The Donnelly Public Library will close through Sunday while library staff consolidates and arranges material in an ongoing effort to manage the space restrictions for capacity of daily operations.The Library’s goal is to continue to serve the district to the best of its ability given the space available.

Vandals slide versus CV

It is a long road and the McCall-Donnelly girls basketball team found that out when it dropped a 48-23 non-conference game to Cole Valley on Saturday in Merdian.The Vandals opened the season with a win over Orofino, giving first year coach Lexi Onthank her first high school victory.

M-D JV teams enjoy successful fall

The McCall-Donnelly volleyball junior varsity “A” team avenged its only loss of the season by sweeping Weiser, 25-17, 25-23, to win a district championship this fall.The Vandals finished the season 15-1, a record that also included victories over two varsity squads, Ontario (Oregon) and Cascade.“This group put in a ton of hard work during the club season last spring and it shows,” M-D coach Heidi Wyman said.

Ramblers knock off North Star

Cascade coach Steve Yamamoto saw just what he hoped when his Ramblers opened the girls basketball season with a 40-32 victory over North Star Charter of Eagle last week at Novotny Gym.Senior Kallyn Rodgers scored 13 points and Lauren Davis announced her arrival on the high school basketball scene by scoring seven of Cascade’s nine points during the first quarter.Eight of the 11 Ramblers who suited up for the varsity scored a bucket.“They came together as a team, which is big for us to get that started,” Yamamoto said.Cascade also got strong games from posts Claire Pierce and Alison Bailey.

McCall sweeps Reno with OT victory

Ian Zaleski’s golden goal in overtime capped a stellar weekend for the McCall Mountaineers, giving the local hockey team a 4-3 victory over the Reno Ice Raiders on Saturday at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre.Zeleski’s goal, his second of the evening, also gifted the Mountaineers a two-game sweep over their Reno rivals.
