M-D coach Kindall stepping down

McCall-Donnelly boys soccer coach Brad Kindall is stepping down following an eight-year run that includes five district championships and six state tournament appearances.But his first year at the reins of the program, back in 2016, probably had the veteran skipper wondering what the heck he had gotten himself into.“That year we only had 13 players come out and we weren’t even sure we would have enough to have a season,” Kindall said, remembering a bench with no substitutes and having to play short of a full line up multiple games.

Ramblers fall to Vandal hoopers

Kallyn Rodgers scored a game-high 13 points but the Cascade varsity dropped a non-conference game to the McCall-Donnelly girls basketball junior varsity “A” team, 50-25, last week at Novotny Gym.The Ramblers committed 39 turnovers while falling to 1-1 on the season.“McCall came to play and we came out flat,” Cascade coach Steve Yamamoto said.

McCall’s Ryan Ghelfi turned in the top overall time as more than a hundred runners – and some dogs – took part in The Aspen Club’s 12th Annual 6K Turkey Trot, held last week in McCall.Ghelfi’s time of 21 minutes, 52 seconds also placed him first in the male division.
