Burglar arrested for storage unit thefts
The Valley County Sheriff’s Office is asking people who use High Mountain Storage in Donnelly to check their belongings after a Mc-Call man was arrested for stealing from multiple units. An arrest warrant for Jason McCarley, 40, of McCall was issued last week after he was identified as a suspect.

Cascade Fire to try again despite previous funding “no” vote
The Cascade Rural Fire Protection District will ask voters again in May for a tax increase of $650,000 to hire more first responders. Voters rejected a similar tax increase in November with only 46% in favor and 53% of voters opposed.
False school shooting reports lead to police check-in
Law enforcement officers checked in on local schools Wednesday after false reports of school shootings were made about schools elsewhere in Idaho. Responding officers found no incidents of violence or anything out of the ordinary at all schools in the McCall-Donnelly and Cascade School Districts but felt compelled to walk through the schools because of the concerning reports across the state, officials said.

Lost snowmobilers found with opioids
Two snowmobilers from Washington were arrested for possession of drugs and paraphernalia after getting lost north of Burgdorf Hot Springs and spending the night outdoors. Jade Sidorak, 26, and Brandon Williams, 33, both of Walla Walla, Washington, left the Francis Wallace Parking Lot about 10 miles north of McCall and headed north on the groomed snowmobile trails past the hot springs on Feb.
