Shore Lodge still leads as parade returns
Shore Lodge and Whitetail Club’s Shrekthemed parade float claimed the prize for “Best Originality” in the 2023 McCall Winter Carnival Mardi Gras Parade held last weekend. The parade was cancelled in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned for this year’s Winter Carnival, for which the theme was “Fairy Tales, Folk Tales and Tall Tales.” The 2023 parade featured 36 floats and revamped judging that reduced the number of prizes from 11 to four, said McKenzie Kraemer, a McCall Area Chamber of Commerce spokesperson.
