Residential subdivision to include 35 lots The 59-unit Raven Ridge Subdivision was unanimously approved on Monday by the Cascade City Council. The development includes 35 lots on about 6 1/2 acres zoned for high density residential development on Cabarton Road about 200 feet from where the road meets Idaho 55 within Cascade city limits.
Comment period closed Tuesday More than 18,000 public comments on Perpetua Resources’ Stibnite Gold Project were received during a 75-day comment period on the Payette National Forest’s draft study of the mine. The Payette received 18,410 online comments as of Wednesday morning and a few hundred more comments via mail and email that are still being processed, public affairs officer Brian Harris said.
An application to increase the occupancy of a vacation rental in McCall beyond 10 people was aired at Tuesday’s meeting of the McCall Area Planning and Zoning Commission. The application is the first under new rules adopted by the city that require a permit for any vacation rental seeking to sleep more than 10 people.
Perpetua Resources’ proposed gold and antimony mine is located in the Stibnite Mining District about 40 air miles east of McCall. Perpetua, formerly known as Midas Gold, hopes to extract about $6 billion in gold and other minerals from Stibnite, the site of historic mining operations during World War II and as far back as 1899.

Three alpine racers from the McCall Winter Sports Club competed in three days of racing at Snowbird ski area in Utah over the weekend. The event included two slalom races on Saturday and Sunday and one giant slalom race on Monday.
