New blue salt used on highway

The Idaho Transportation Department has been using a new, blue salt on Idaho 55 south of McCall that is said to melt ice more efficiently and cause less corrosion on vehicles. ITD officials noted the change in a December meeting with Valley County commissioners, who bemoaned the corrosion from road salt that affects county and private vehicles traveling on Idaho 55.

Donation for Donnelly library expansion

A $25,000 donation received this week by the Donnelly Public Library District will help launch a campaign to expand the library, library director Sherry Scheline said. The $25,000 came from fundraisers and private donations collected by the Friends of the Donnelly Public Library, a nonprofit organization that helps support the library.
