Rushton, Critchfield win in Grangeville

Adam Rushton and Van Critchfield were crowned champions as theMcCall-Donnellywrestlingteam competed at the Andrew Beck Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Grangeville. A trio of underclassmen – John Spilotros, Finnigan Moon and Zion Rushton – also nabbed silver in their respectivedivisions.AveryRiggsand Gavon Keegan both earned bronze while TJ Leonard and Ethan Roberts also found a place on the podium, finishing fourth.

FRUITLAND 48, M-D 36

Green scored 11 points, but the Vandals dropped a league matchup to Fruitland last week, 48-36, in a game played in McCall. Tinneyaddedsixpoints and Cassidy Crockett, Jones and Jenna Thomas each chipped in five points.

Vandal boys cruise past Parma

Sam Penny scored 14 points and Luke Scott added 13 as the McCall-Donnelly boys basketball team found its groove during a 6937 trouncing of Parma on Friday. All facets were working for the Vandals during the Snake River Valley Conference game, which was played on the road.

Study: Stibnite mine benefits unlikely

Businesses across Valley County are unlikely to benefit from Perpetua Resources’ proposed gold and antimony mine near Yellow Pine, according to an economic study released last week. The study was commissioned by the Idaho Headwaters Economic Study Group, a group of 50 Valley County businesses that sought to better understand how the mine could affect local economies.
