McCall parks committee vacancy
The City of McCall is seeking volunteers to fill an open position on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The committee advises and makes recommendations to the McCall City Council on matters pertaining to the operations, management and programming of the McCall Parks and Recreation Department.

Backcountry rangers complete their first season
The Payette National Forest’s three backcountry rangers wrapped up a successful season this fall, surveying 57 lakes and creating an inventory of 305 remote campsites. This summer was the first time since the 1990s that the Payette employed backcountry rangers to do everything from chatting with visitors at trailheads to improving campsites at remote lakes.

Planning grant for Soil/Water district
The Valley Soil & Water Conservation District will head a group planning water quality improvement project over the next two years after receiving a grant for about $200,000. The district will form a coalition to identify, prioritize and coordinate water quality projects across the North Fork Payette River watershed, District Manager Durena Farr said.

Payette to host local meetings on Perpetua mine
McCall, Cascade to kick off meetings The Payette National Forest will host public meetings next week in McCall and Cascade on a recently completed study of Perpetua Resources’ proposed Stibnite mine near Yellow Pine. The first open house meeting will be on Tuesday in McCall from 5:30 p.m.
