Pate, Lathrop lead all-state soccer selections

Rylan Pate and Peyton Lathrop were among four Vandals who earned selections as the 3A all-state soccer teams were announced, each making the second team. Tylie Value and Kaiya Wave also both earned an honorable- mention nod after helping the McCall-Donnelly girls soccer team to a 11-6-1 record, a regular season Snake River Valley Conference title and a spot in the state tournament.

Perpetua proposal explained

Perpetua Resources’ proposed gold and antimony mine is located in the Stibnite Mining District about 40 air miles east of McCall. Perpetua, formerly known as Midas Gold, hopes to extract about $6 billion in gold and other minerals from Stibnite, the site of historic mining operations during World War II and as far back as 1899.

Valley County rec advisory council

Valley County is seeking members for a newly-created recreation advisory council to help direct the recreation department. The council will have seven to nine members to provide recommendations and advice on the best use of lands and funding to meet the growing demand for public recreation in Valley County, recreation department planner Dave Bingaman said.

Sisters to compete in Las Vegas

Cassidy and McKenzie Crockett will be two of 840 contestants from across the United States and Canada competing at the Vegas Tuffest Junior World Championship held in Las Vegas, December 1-5. The sisters attended qualifiers this past summer where they had to place among the top two in their division to earn their spot at the finals.
