McCall Sr. Center notes upgrades with pie sale

$735K remodel completed by city Dawn Havens notices that the McCall Senior Center feels warmer recently, and not just because of the three dozen pies she baked in the center’s kitchen earlier this week. Havens was responsible for baking all 39 pies sold for the annual Thanksgiving pie sale, the senior center’s first major fundraiser since a $735,000 renovation of the building was completed over the summer.

We’re still here

On Nov. 1, McCall’s long independent newspaper, The Star-News, was sold to CherryRoad Media. The edition of The Star-News you are reading today is the first to be produced by CherryRoad, after the former local owners, Tom and Tomi Grote, continued to handle the first few November editions.
