McManus wins gold, Speirs silver at 3A district X-C meet Jack McManus and George Speirs finished atop the boys field and the Vandal girls won a team title as the McCall-Donnelly cross country team competed at the 3A District III championships last week in Homedale. Mc-Manus, a senior, won his third straight district championship, course in 16 minutes, 47 seconds.
The McCall-Donnelly volleyball team is headed back to state after knocking off reigning champions Sugar-Salem, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, during a 3A District III play-in game on Saturday in Twin Falls. The Vandals play Snake River of Blackfoot (12-4) on Friday at 9 a.m. to open the 3A state tournament at Hillcrest High School in Idaho Falls.
